September's reading features four fantastic poets--visiting poets Stephanie Anderson (Chicago, IL), Timothy Bradford (Oklahoma City, OK), Grant Jenkins (Tulsa, OK) and Kansas' very own Cyrus Console. The featured readers will follow an open mic session, so bring your best work to share. As always, there will be a merch table, so please support our readers by buying their books.
Stephanie Anderson is the author of
In the Key of Those Who Can No Longer Organize Their Environments (Horse Less Press) and five chapbooks, including the forthcoming
Sentence, Signal, Stain (Greying Ghost Press) and
LIGHTBOX (The New Megaphone). Her poems have recently appeared or are forthcoming in
6x6, The Brooklyn Rail, Denver Quarterly, Lana Turner, POOL, and elsewhere. She lives in Chicago and edits Projective Industries.
Timothy Bradford is the author of the introduction to
Sadhus (Cuerpos Pintados, 2003), a photography book on the ascetics of South Asia, and
Nomads with Samsonite (BlazeVOX [books], 2011), a collection of poetry. In 2005, he received the Koret Foundation’s Young Writer on Jewish Themes Award for a novel-in-progress, and from 2007 to 2009, he was a guest researcher at the Institut d’Histoire du Temps Présent in Paris. Currently, he is a Visiting Assistant Professor at Oklahoma State University and lives with his wife, two sons, and an ever-changing menagerie on the outskirts of Oklahoma City.
Cyrus Console is the author of
Brief Under Water (Burning Deck, 2008) and
The Odicy (Omnidawn, 2011). His translation, with Paula Console-Soican, of Mircea Ionescu-Quintus'
The Devil's Grinder is now available from Parmenides Publishing. He teaches at the Kansas City Art Institute.
Grant Matthew Jenkins, Associate Professor of English, teaches contemporary literature and creative writing at the University of Tulsa. He has published two books of poetry,
Joy of God and Other Series (Blackbird, 2003) and the most recent in collaboration with Cheryl Pallant,
Morphs (Cracked Slab 2009). His poems appear in
Source Material, Used Cat., Birddog, Cannibal, Sugar Mule, Syntax, Action Yes, and
