Alyse Bensel is the Book Review Editor at the Los Angeles Review. She is the author of the poetry chapbooks Shift (Plan B Press, 2012) and Not of Their Own Making (dancing girl press, forthcoming 2014). Her poetry has appeared in MAYDAY Magazine, Cold Mountain Review, Blue Earth Review, and Word Riot, among others. Additional prose has appeared in Prairie Schooner, CALYX, and the Colorado Review. She is a PhD candidate in creative writing at the University of Kansas.
Mary Klayder is a longtime Lawrence resident, writer, and English teacher at the University of Kansas.
Brenda Sieczkowski’s poems and lyric essays have appeared widely in print and on-line journals. Her chapbook, Wonder Girl in Monster Land, was published in 2012 by dancing girl press. Like Oysters Observing the Sun, her first full-length collection, will be out shortly from Black Lawrence Press. Currently, she lives, works, and writes in Omaha, Nebraska.
